Intro
Human-AI Dialogues with Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Agency and AI
The project entitled ‘Human-AI Dialogues with Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Agency and AI’ concerns decision-making dialogues in which artificial intelligence (AI) and humans collaborate using natural language to make complex decisions. In such dialogues, various agents, including AI assistants and users, combine their diverse skills and information to jointly develop the best solutions in everyday situations, such as assigning reviewers to conference articles, planning a multi-stage city tour, or negotiating travel plans for a group of friends. The project emphasises mutual exchange of information, dialogue, asking questions and drawing conclusions in order to jointly arrive at the optimal decision. In addition, it creates environments for evaluating language models on these tasks and provides datasets for research on this type of interaction.
The project is interdisciplinary, combining elements of artificial intelligence, cognition and cognitive agency, mechanisms of human-AI interaction and cooperation in tasks requiring collaboration and co-decision-making. Its aim is to increase the effectiveness and naturalness of human-AI cooperation through dialogue-based decision-making assistance systems.
